The Southwest Illinois Chapter of the Military Officers Association and the Scott Company Grade Officers Council have Joined to Help Fight Food Insufficiency at Scott Air Force Base

The Food Insufficiency Challenge—Inflating gas, food, rent, utilities, and other cost of living expenses have impacted our youngest airmen serving at Scott AFB. Many of those airmen are finding it hard to make ends meet, especially if they live off-base. Although Basic Needs Allowances in defense budgets have provided additional funds to the airmen to help with food insecurity, the cost of living has gone well above that.

Answering the Challenge—The Southwest Illinois MOAA chapter is teaming with the Scott Company Grade Officers Council to hold the first annual Scott Fights Food Insufficiency golf tournament. The proceeds from this tournament will go directly to the Scott AFB service members who need it the most.


Tournament Details

• Where: Cardinal Creek Golf Course, Scott AFB IL
• When: Friday, 10 July 2026
  Registration & Continental Breakfast starts at 7:30
  Shotgun Start at 9:00
• Format: 4‐person select shot (best ball) tournament with flighted awards for low net score, mens' and ladies' straighest drive and closest to the pin. Plus, bragging rights competition for Scott military unit teams!
• Cost: $95 per player, includes 18 holes of golf plus cart, range balls before tee‐off, box lunch at the turn from hole 18 to 1, and meal at awards ceremony.
